Tragedy struck in Abeokuta today when four young men allegedly gang
and raped a 50-year-old Benniose woman and later slaughtered her.
According to an eyewitness, who spoke with journalists, the suspects
stormed the woman's house located at Oniyanrin area of the town
through the window.
It has been gathered that the mother of five, popularly called Mama
Friday, lived alone in the boys quarters in the main building as her
husband,a bricklayer, worked in Ifo town.
A source, who preferred his name not to be disclosed, narrated that
the gang having gained access into the apartment, engaged the victim
in a marathon sex, and after satisfying their sexual urge reportedly
slaughtered her and fled the scene.
Meanwhile the victim's neighbours were said to be unaware of what was
happening happening until until the woman's lifeless body was found on
the bed, with bloodstain and pants at the edge of the bed the
following morning.
At the time of this report four suspects have been arrested by the
Ogun State Police Command and were being interrogated
